Müllheim im Markgräflerland railway station

Müllheim im Markgräflerland station is a rail junction in southern Baden where the Müllheim–Mulhouse cross-border line branches off the main Mannheim–Basel trunk route. Its historical suffix '(Baden)' dates to the era of the Grand Duchy of Baden, when the Rheintalbahn was first constructed. Between 1896 and 1955 the station was also the starting point of the Müllheim–Badenweiler Lokalbahn, a narrow-gauge tramway-style line connecting the town to the spa resort of Badenweiler in the Black Forest foothills. Today it functions primarily as a transfer point for travellers heading into Alsace or the Markgräflerland wine region.
