Breisach railway station

Breisach railway station is the terminus serving the town of Breisach am Rhein, with regional trains running to Freiburg via the Breisacher Bahn and to Riegel-Malterdingen via the Kaiserstuhlbahn. Its status as a dead-end station is a direct consequence of World War II: the Rhine rail bridge was destroyed in 1945, cutting the onward connection to Colmar in France. Restoring the cross-border link has been discussed periodically, but no concrete plans have materialised.
