Türkismühle station

Türkismühle station sits in the small Saarland community of Nohfelden and was opened on 26 May 1860 as part of the extension of the Nahe Valley Railway from Idar-Oberstein to Neunkirchen. Its chief historical significance lies in its former role as a diverging junction station — once the meeting point of three separate lines, including the Hochwald Railway toward Trier and the Westrich Railway toward Kusel, giving this modest rural stop an outsized operational importance. Today it serves as a regional stop with much reduced traffic, of primary interest to railway history enthusiasts.
