Vevey railway station

Vevey railway station opened in 1861 as a stop on the Lake Geneva mainline and has since grown into the town's central transit hub. Three lines converge here: the SBB intercity route between Lausanne and Montreux, the rack railway to Chexbres-Puidoux, and the metre-gauge MVR line into the hinterland. For travellers it primarily serves as a transfer point for excursions to the Lavaux vineyard terraces or the lakefront promenade.
