Windhoek Railway Station

Windhoek Railway Station is the historic rail terminal of Namibia's capital and one of the most prominent surviving examples of Wilhelmine colonial architecture in sub-Saharan Africa. Built during the German South West Africa colonial period, the building features the characteristic elements of late imperial German design — articulated facades, rounded arch openings, and a formal station hall. Since Namibian independence in 1990, the complex has been repurposed to house the Namibia Railway Museum and a restaurant, while active rail services from the site remain very limited.
