Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad

The Real Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad is a Roman Catholic parish church in the harbour city of Cartagena, built in the late 18th century in the classicist style and granted the title of basilica minor. Its interior follows a centralised plan topped by a dome directly inspired by the Roman Pantheon — an architectural reference widely used for prestige ecclesiastical buildings of that era. Listed as a bien de interés cultural, Spain's primary heritage protection category, the basilica remains an active parish and a point of local Marian devotion, hosting regular services and the city's traditional religious processions.
