Basilica Santa Maria delle Vigne

The Basilica of Santa Maria delle Vigne is one of Genoa's oldest churches, tracing its origins to a 6th-century chapel that once stood outside the city walls amid vineyards — hence its name. A Romanesque structure from the 10th century forms the historical core, though repeated remodeling through the baroque and neoclassical periods has layered the interior with successive eras of decoration.
