Basilique du Sacré-Cœur

The Basilique du Sacré-Cœur in Nancy is a Roman Catholic parish church built in a neuromanesque and neobyzantine style, completed in 1905 and immediately consecrated as a Basilica minor — a designation granting it special liturgical standing within the Catholic Church. Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it belongs to the Diocese of Nancy-Toul and today forms part of the parish community founded in 2001 under the name of Blessed Charles de Foucauld. Its domed silhouette and rounded Romanesque arches set it visually apart from the Gothic churches more typical of the Lorraine region. The church is open on weekdays and is fully wheelchair accessible.
