Beinn a' Chroin

Beinn a' Chroin is a 942-metre Munro in the southern Scottish Highlands, set within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park south of the village of Crianlarich. Its Gaelic name carries an unresolved ambiguity — variously translated as 'hill of danger' or 'hill of the sheep-fold' — hinting at centuries of pastoral land use across this upland terrain. The ascent crosses open heather moorland and grassy ridges, with the connecting ridge to the neighbouring Munro Beinn Chabhair demanding sure footing in poor weather. The summit opens up wide views across the southern Highlands and towards Loch Lomond. The peak is a popular target for Munro-baggers working through all 282 of Scotland's qualifying summits.
