Brauweiler Abbey

Also known as: Abtei Brauweiler

One of the most important former Benedictine abbeys in the Rhineland - founded in 1024 in present-day Pulheim near Cologne. The Abbey Church of St Nicholas with its towering westwork has shaped the town silhouette for almost a millennium. Today a regional cultural centre and memorial site to the Nazi era.
