Botanischer Garten
The Botanical Garden of Technische Universität Braunschweig has occupied a quiet stretch along the eastern Oker floodwater channel since 1840, making it one of Lower Saxony's oldest university gardens. Founded during the Biedermeier period as a teaching and research collection, it remains an active part of the university's botanical sciences program while being freely open to the public year-round. Opening hours shift seasonally — 8 am to 6 pm in summer, shorter in winter — and the riverside path along the Oker adds a gentle walking dimension to the visit.
