Breitenbachplatz

Breitenbachplatz station sits on Berlin's U3 line in the Dahlem district, near the boundary with Steglitz and Wilmersdorf. It opened on 12 October 1913 as part of the Wilmersdorf-Dahlem rapid transit line, one of the early electrified extensions that pushed the city's underground network into its southern suburbs. The oval plaza above was laid out simultaneously with the station and originally named Rastatter Platz, only receiving its current name when the station below opened. The structure is a listed Baudenkmal, and its Wilhelmine-era station architecture remains largely intact despite over a century of continuous BVG operation.
