Candidplatz
Munich
The Deutsche Oper U-Bahn station is a stop on Berlin's U2 line at Bismarckstraße in Charlottenburg, opened on 14 May 1906 under its original name Bismarckstraße. Part of the early Hochbahn expansion under the German Empire, it is among the oldest continuously operating stations in the Berlin network and is today a listed Baudenkmal. It was renamed after the Deutsche Oper Berlin, one of Germany's principal opera houses, which stands directly adjacent. The station retains the functional plainness typical of early BVG design and remains step-access only, without wheelchair facilities.
