San Trovaso is a church in the sestiere of Dorsoduro in Venice. The name fuses the Venetian dialect forms of Saints Gervasius and Protasius. The present church was rebuilt from the late 16th century, but traces its origins to a Romanesque predecessor from the 11th century. Notably, the church has two identical facades facing different directions, an unusual feature found in only a handful of Venetian churches. Directly opposite stands the Squero di San Trovaso, one of the last active gondola boatyards in Venice. The combination of a quiet church and living craft tradition makes this spot a genuine local highlight.
