Nazi Forced Labour Documentation Centre

The Documentation Centre Nazi Forced Labour in Berlin-Niederschoeneweide is housed on the grounds of an original surviving Nazi forced-labour camp. The twelve preserved wooden barracks along the Britzer Zweigkanal are the only fully preserved camp of this kind in Germany; the city of Berlin had more than 3,000 such camps holding around 500,000 forced labourers. Until Weimar's Museum of Forced Labour under National Socialism opened in 2024, Niederschoeneweide was the only museum on this subject in Germany. The permanent exhibition combines individual workers' biographies, original camp structures and a research-driven approach - the centre is run by the Topography of Terror Foundation. Admission is free.
