Elbbergbrücke

The Elbbergbrücke is a road bridge in Hamburg's Altona-Altstadt district, built in 1944 near Kaistraße. It was constructed to span the tracks of the Altonaer Hafenbahn, a freight railway connecting the port to inland goods traffic. With the dismantling of that rail line, the bridge lost its original crossing function but survives today as a protected Kulturdenkmal — a modest but tangible remnant of Hamburg's wartime harbour infrastructure.
