Gore Mountain

Gore Mountain is a forested summit in Essex County, Vermont, situated within Avery's Gore — one of Vermont's unincorporated gores, a category of county land that belongs to no town and has only limited self-governance. Located roughly 6 miles south of the Canadian border with Quebec, it is flanked by Black Mountain to the northeast and Middle Mountain to the northwest. The area is uninhabited and largely off the beaten path, offering quiet backcountry terrain for experienced hikers seeking genuine remoteness.
