Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park sits on the west side of Howe Sound, just north of the small coastal town of Gibsons in British Columbia, and was established in 2000. The roughly 141-hectare reserve protects a dense coastal rainforest of Douglas fir and western red cedar characteristic of the Sunshine Coast. Trails climb through the forest, opening occasional views over Howe Sound — one of Canada's southernmost fjords. The park is a quiet, undeveloped natural area rather than a full-service recreation site, making it best suited for half-day hikes from nearby Gibsons or Roberts Creek.
