José María Gabriel y Galán

This memorial in Salamanca commemorates José María Gabriel y Galán (1870–1905), one of the most celebrated Castilian-Extremaduran poets of his era. Writing in the rural dialect of Extremadura, he became a defining voice of peasant life in turn-of-the-century Spain. The monument is publicly accessible and wheelchair-friendly, forming part of Salamanca's outdoor heritage trail.
