Krongut Bornstedt is a former royal model estate of the Prussian crown in Potsdam, only 400 metres north of Sanssouci Palace on the Bornstedt lake. Friedrich Wilhelm IV had it rebuilt from 1846 in Italian country-villa style, with campanile, pergolas and stable yard, drawing on impressions from his Italian travels. Empress Augusta Viktoria, who later kept court here, ran a model farm for the imperial household. Today the estate is a staged crafts village with a show brewery, pottery, glass workshop, bakery and farm shop, complemented by restaurants in the stable buildings and a lakeside beer garden. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Palaces and Parks of Potsdam.
