The Cars collection of HSH the Prince of Monaco

Also known as: Cars Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco, Exhibition of HSH The Prince of Monaco's Vintage Car Collection, Musée de l'automobile de Monaco

The Collection de Voitures Anciennes de SAS le Prince de Monaco is an automobile museum holding the private vehicles of the Monegasque ruling family, founded by Prince Rainier III in the 1950s. The collection comprises about 100 vehicles spanning more than a century of motor history, including state carriages of earlier princes, sports cars owned by the Grimaldi family, and race and rally cars actually entered by family members in competition. Highlights include several Bugattis, a 1920s Hispano-Suiza, and Formula 1 cars that ran on the streets of Monte Carlo. The collection was long housed in the former hall on the Terrasses de Fontvieille and has reopened in a purpose-built space after a closure. For motoring enthusiasts and families, the museum is a destination of its own beyond the casino and harbour.
