Railway Museum Athens

The Railway Museum of Athens is a small technical museum in Piraeus documenting the history of rail transport in Greece, run by the state operator OSE. It displays locomotives, carriages, uniforms, models and documents from the beginnings of Greek railways in the 19th century through the postwar modernisation, including rack-and-pinion engines from the Peloponnese mountain lines. Admission is free. The visit is well suited to families and railway enthusiasts and pairs naturally with a walk through the port of Piraeus.
