Greece's leading theatre museum in Athens — set designs, costumes, and documents tracing the history of Greek theatre from antiquity onwards.

The Museum of the Greek Theatre in Athens is Greece's most important non-university research institution for theatre studies. Founded in 1938 by theatre historian Yiannis Sideris, it is dedicated to the history of Greek theatre from antiquity to the present day. The collection includes stage design models, costumes, programmes, photographs, and personal archives of notable actors and directors. An affiliated research centre makes it a living archive of the performing arts in Greece. It is a genuine insider destination for anyone interested in the foundations of European theatrical tradition.
