Olof-Palme-Platz

Olof-Palme-Platz lies in Berlin's Tiergarten quarter on the edge of the City West, marking the junction of Kurfuerstenstrasse, Budapester Strasse and Nuernberger Strasse. The square was renamed in 1987 for the Swedish prime minister Olof Palme, assassinated a year earlier. It is a typical Berlin urban junction of this stretch, more traffic node than place to linger, with views toward the Europa-Center and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. People crossing it are usually on their way to the nearby KaDeWe department store or the Berlin Zoo.
