Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum

The Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is anchored by the USS Bowfin (SS-287), a Balao-class submarine credited with sinking nine enemy ships during the Pacific War — earning the nickname "Pearl Harbor Avenger." Commissioned in 1943 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Bowfin was inaugurated as a museum ship in 1979 and remains one of the best-preserved WWII submarines open to the public. Visitors can walk through the actual torpedo rooms, crew quarters, and control center, experiencing the extreme confinement in which a crew of over 80 lived for months at a time. The outdoor park also displays torpedoes, missiles, and additional naval equipment. Open daily 07:00–17:00, admission fee applies.
