Press Museum

The Nederlands Persmuseum was a national museum of Dutch press history that existed for 102 years. Founded in 1915, it documented four centuries of print media: pamphlets from the Dutch Revolt, underground newspapers from the Nazi occupation, political cartoons and the daily record of the free press. In June 2017 the museum closed and merged into the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam-Oost, where the collection and archive remain accessible to researchers. There is no longer a dedicated public exhibition space.
