Pfleghof

The Pfleghof — formally Schloss Hohenburg or Pflegschloss — is an early modern castle complex in the Upper Palatinate market town of Hohenburg, in Bavaria's Amberg-Sulzbach district. It is listed both as a protected architectural monument (Baudenkmal) and as an archaeological site (Bodendenkmal) in the BayernAtlas, with recorded early modern remains beneath the grounds of the former administrative residence. Little survives above ground today, but the site reflects the role such Pflege offices played in Bavarian territorial governance. It remains a quiet, largely unvisited stop for those interested in regional castle history and heritage archaeology.
