Rathenauplatz

Rathenauplatz is a 2.77-hectare park in Cologne's Neustadt-Süd district, tucked within the dense Gründerzeit street grid between Roonstrasse, Zülpicher Strasse, Dasselstrasse and Lindenstrasse. It is named after Walther Rathenau, the German foreign minister assassinated in 1922. The park serves as one of the few contiguous green spaces in the southern inner-city ring, valued by locals as a quiet retreat from the busier stretch of nearby Zülpicher Strasse. Mature trees provide shade and benches line the paths — an unassuming neighborhood park used more by residents than visitors.
