Rocket Valley - Görkündere
Rocket Valley — Görkündere in Turkish — is a narrow hiking valley on the edge of Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia, roughly a 20-minute walk from the town center. It takes its name from the unusually slender, rocket-shaped fairy chimneys carved from volcanic tuff over millennia by wind and water erosion. The valley sits directly below Göreme's popular sunrise and sunset viewpoint, offering the inverse perspective: the same dramatic rock formations seen from ground level. The trail passes a horse farm and connects naturally to the road toward the Göreme Open Air Museum, making it easy to combine. Outside peak season the valley sees very few visitors, rewarding those who come with near-solitude among the formations.
