Rose Valley 1 Trailhead

The Rose Valley trailhead sits on the edge of Göreme and marks the entry into one of Cappadocia's most rewarding hiking corridors. The valley takes its name from the pink-red glow the volcanic tuff walls emit in low-angle light, most vivid at sunrise and sunset. Following the trail on foot reveals Byzantine rock-cut chapels dating to the 9th and 10th centuries, several with frescoes still visible on the walls.
