Viewpoints in Athens

Athens offers some of the most rewarding viewpoints in Greece. From Lykavittos and Philopappos Hill the city spreads out across the Attic plain in every direction, while the Areopagus and the Pnyx sit close enough to the Acropolis of Athens to frame its temples at eye level. The Acropolis Museum provides its own striking perspectives on the ancient site from within. Further afield, the Arditos Hill, the Frankish Tower of Vravrona, and the Tower of Oinoe near Marathon each offer open panoramas across the broader Attic landscape.
