М-42

This memorial displays a Soviet 45mm anti-tank gun M-42 (М-42), produced from 1942 and deployed along the Eastern Front during World War II. Despite being manufactured in large numbers, the weapon's limited armor-penetrating capability against later German vehicles led to its gradual replacement by the more powerful 57mm M1943 gun from 1943 onward; production ceased entirely in 1946. Installed as a static monument in Perwomajsk, it serves as a local commemoration of the region's wartime history.
