152-мм гаубица образца 1943 года (Д-1)

The D-1 152mm howitzer is a Soviet heavy field artillery piece developed in 1943 under designer Fyodor Petrov and deployed immediately on the Eastern Front. With a caliber of 152.4mm, it was among the Red Army's most powerful howitzers and saw continued service across Warsaw Pact armies well into the postwar decades. This example is displayed as an open-air exhibit in Volgograd — the city formerly known as Stalingrad — serving as a tangible reminder of the artillery firepower that shaped one of the war's most decisive turning points.
