Dortmund-Barop station
Railway
Aachen West is a small passenger and freight station on the western edge of Aachen, operated by DB InfraGO AG. It has a single island platform serving two tracks on the Aachen–Mönchengladbach regional line. The station's main point of railway-historical interest is its role as junction for the Montzen route, a freight-only line into Belgium originally built to carry iron ore from Lorraine and still in active goods service today.
