Pontstraße

Pontstraße is Aachen's main student strip, cutting through the old town close to RWTH Aachen, one of Germany's leading technical universities. Gründerzeit-era facades line the street, their ground floors packed with pubs, bars, and cafés that draw a predominantly student crowd. The street has served as a central urban axis since the 19th century, but its real identity comes alive in the evenings when venues range from beer gardens to cocktail bars. A scattering of boutiques and small shops fills the daytime hours, but nightlife remains the street's defining character.
