Border tripoint

Liked by

The Dreiländereck near Aachen marks the sole point where Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands converge — sitting atop the Vaalserberg, which at 322.7 metres is also the highest point on Dutch soil. A boundary stone has marked the tripoint since the 19th century; today a modern three-pillar monument represents the symbolic borders of all three nations. What once meant passport checks and customs now sits inside the Schengen Area, making it possible to step between three countries in seconds. The site is wheelchair-accessible, and on clear days the surrounding plateau offers broad views across the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion.
