The A51 motorway — commonly known as the Flughafenautobahn (airport motorway) — runs through the canton of Zürich from the Zürich Nord interchange via Kloten to Bülach Nord. The southern section overlaps with National Route 11; the northern stretch is classified as a cantonal motorway. Its primary function is to connect Zürich-Kloten Airport to the wider Swiss motorway network.
