Axamer Lizum

Axamer Lizum sits at around 1,600 meters in the Stubai Alps, serving as the ski area for the municipality of Axams roughly 20 kilometers southwest of Innsbruck. The resort gained international recognition as the venue for alpine ski competitions at the 1964 and 1972 Winter Olympics, both times Innsbruck hosted the Games. Groomed runs extend to nearly 2,340 meters, with cross-country tracks and winter walking trails rounding out the offer. In summer the area draws hikers seeking broad views across the surrounding Tyrolean peaks.
