Yerevan railway station

Yerevan's main railway station is a neoclassical structure built in 1902 during the final decades of the Russian Empire, and is today listed as a cultural monument of Armenia. It marked the city's integration into the Tsarist rail network across the South Caucasus, serving for decades as the principal gateway into the Armenian capital. Operations are now run by the South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways. Rail connections have contracted sharply since the Soviet collapse — the route north to Georgia still operates, while links to Turkey and Azerbaijan have been severed for decades, leaving the station a quieter shadow of its former self.
