Kawaguchiko Station

Kawaguchiko Station is the terminal stop of the Fuji Kyūkō Line in Yamanashi Prefecture, serving as the primary rail gateway to the Fuji Five Lakes region and Mount Fuji. Opened in 1950, it has since become the main transit hub for day-trippers and overnight visitors arriving from Tokyo via the Shinkansen connection at Ōtsuki. The station building itself is a modest postwar structure, but its forecourt offers unobstructed views of Mount Fuji on clear days. Regional bus lines fan out from the station to lakeside viewpoints, hiking trailheads, and onsen resorts around Lake Kawaguchi.
