Kōfu Station is the central rail hub of Kōfu, the prefectural capital of Yamanashi Prefecture on Honshū. Opened in 1903 during the Meiji era, it is today jointly operated by JR East and JR Central. The station connects the city to Tokyo via the Chūō Line heading east and toward Nagoya to the west, making it the main gateway in and out of the region.
