Lüneburg station

Lüneburg station is the result of two formerly independent railway stations — Lüneburg Ost and Lüneburg West — whose classicist passenger buildings still face each other across a shared forecourt. The unusual mirrored arrangement dates back to the Hanseatic city being served by two separate railway companies, each constructing its own terminal. Today Lüneburg Ost functions as the active station, while the West building survives as an adjunct without independent operations.
