Ahlen (Westfalen) station
Railway HistoryRailway Station
Verviers-Central is the main railway station of the Walloon city of Verviers, situated between Liège and the German border. The station building features Art Nouveau architecture, a style that flourished in Belgium around the turn of the twentieth century, characterized by ornamental facades and fluid decorative forms. Verviers was historically one of Europe's foremost wool and textile centers, and the station's design reflects the city's prosperity during that industrial peak. Today it serves as an SNCB/NMBS stop connecting the region toward Liège and the nearby German border.
