Bajza utca

Bajza utca is a station on Budapest Metro Line 1 (the Földalatti), opened in 1896 as part of the city's millennial celebrations marking 1,000 years of Hungarian settlement. The Földalatti is the oldest electric underground railway on the European continent and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the András út ensemble. Situated between Kodály körönd and Hősök tere, the station retains its compact Gründerzeit-era character with low ceilings and modest platforms. It is operated by BKV and is not wheelchair accessible.
