Bartenstein

The Bartenstein is a basalt ridge in the Hoher Westerwald reaching 617.6 metres, stretching roughly 750 metres from northwest of the village of Gusternhain toward the Heisterberg to the southwest. It is the easternmost summit above 600 metres in the Westerwald and the third-highest point in the Hessian part of the range after Höllkopf and Großefeld. The summit offers open views across the forested Westerwald plateau and is accessible via well-marked forest trails, making it a straightforward half-day hike from the Lahn-Dill region.
