Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes, Belo Horizonte

The Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte and one of the most prominent religious landmarks in the capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Completed in 1923, it was built in the Neo-Gothic style, its twin spires and pointed-arch facade evoking the great European cathedral tradition of the late 19th century. As the seat of the archbishop, it functions as both the liturgical and administrative center of the archdiocese. Its dedication to Our Lady of Lourdes reflects the deep Marian devotion that characterizes Catholic life across Minas Gerais.
