Basilica Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta serves as the bishop's church of the Diocese of Carpi and is protected as an Italian national monument. Construction began in the early 16th century, making it one of the more notable Renaissance churches in the Emilia-Romagna region. Its measured facade reflects the humanist architectural ideals of the period, while the interior contains works by local Renaissance and Baroque painters and sculptors. The cathedral remains an active place of worship and is accessible to wheelchair users.
