Bijaći

Bijaći is an ancient ruin site near the village of Plano, northwest of Split in the Split-Dalmatia County. In the early medieval period it served as a seat of Croatian princes — 9th-century court assemblies held here are among the earliest documented gatherings of Croatian nobility, and the site is linked to the rise of the Croatian royal title. Today the remains are largely absorbed into the landscape, making it a rewarding stop for those with an interest in early Croatian or Roman-era archaeology, though little is visible above ground.
