Blankenstein

The Plankenstein is a rocky climbing peak in the Bavarian Prealps, sitting at 1,768 metres between the Wallberg and Risserkogel massifs near Tegernsee. It is primarily known as a climbing destination, offering steep rock routes of varying grades on its exposed faces. Hikers who make the ascent on foot are rewarded with open views across the Tegernsee valley and the surrounding foothills — with noticeably fewer visitors than the more accessible neighbouring summits.
