Brecherspitz

The Brecherspitz is a 1,683-metre summit in the Mangfallgebirge range of the Bavarian Prealps, sitting just south of the Tegernsee lake. It is one of the most popular day-hike destinations in the region: the standard route departs from Schliersee-Neuhaus or the Tegernsee side, taking roughly three hours via forest tracks and steeper alpine meadows near the top. From the summit cross, clear days reveal a sweeping panorama stretching into the Central Alps as far as the Karwendel range, with the Tegernsee visible directly below. No technical climbing skills are required, though solid footwear and sure-footedness on the upper section are advised.
